YOUCA action day 2022

For the 16th edition of the Belgian YOUCA action day , student Jade Mervilde spent a day at Beaulieu Fibres in Wielsbeke. Just like more than 14,000 Flemish and Brussels young people, she committed herself to working a day and earning a wage that goes entirely to charity.
For years, vzw YOUCA (Youth for Change and Action) has organized the YOUCA Action Day with the aim of encouraging young people to work together on a sustainable and just society. A goal that B.I.G. can also fully agree with. That's why Jade spent a day at Beaulieu Fibres in Wielsbeke. "I think it's a unique opportunity to be able to play with this for a day, I was warmly welcomed," said the science student from secondary school.
The experience was also positive for Quality Control Supervisor Nathalie Vervaeck: "I thought it was cool to give a committed young person a taste of work life. This will probably help her in her choice of study and in the search for a job that she feels good in."
